We ruglonians moved from Regent street to Ailsa Drive 1951 when I was 10yrs old and maiden name Fawcett. Before Spittal school it was still the field and a very large tree used to swing on. Castlemilk was still farmland and Fernhill too all way up to Cathkin Braes which was family walks and return Burnside route. Apart from 46 bus you could get the wee SMT 'bankie' bus - Bankhead to the main street.

Hi Jim, I remember June, sorry to hear she has passed. My cousin Jim Keenan died a few years ago. I remember the McCaigs, I used to play with Veronica. Are you still in Scotland? I remember the Walkers in the prefabs in the circle and when they got a TV nobody else had one and Mrs Walker used to have all the kids in to watch it. That is a very clear memory, she must have been a lovely person to put up with us lot.

Hello Freda, I'm sorry for teasing you, and I did of course know who you were. I don't as a rule put any personal details on line. I was a school chum of Martin's, perhaps friend would be overstating it somewhat, but we were generally on friendly terms. The last I heard of him he was going to work for an electricians business in Bridgeton. Hope he's keeping well and yourself too.

Hello Freda. Michael McGrath was my buddy when we were kids. They had McGrath cousins across the street. I remember they had a gooseberry bush in their garden! I also remember the Reids-Slicer Reid was the dad, if I recall. Our neighbours on the left were the MacLennan's. My brother Tommy (who passed away 3 years ago) was a friend of your brother Bobby. I'm 62, and the youngest Mulrine, if that helps. Are you on Facebook?
